Ave Maria
by Kevin A. Memley
Ave Maria, gratia plena, Dominus tecum.
Benedicta tu in mulieribus, et benedictus fructus ventris tui, Jesus.
Sancta Maria, Mater Dei, ora pro nobis peccatoribus, nunc et in hora mortis nostrae. Amen.
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and in the hour of our death. Amen.
En lo más azul del cielo
En lo más azul del cielo
Se paseaba una doncella
En la frente una corona
En la mano una azucena
De um tronco fue la rama
De la rama fue la la for
De la flor nació María
De María el Redentor
Al cristal cruzó un destello
Mas su faz no la empañó
A si concibió María
Y doncella se quedó
In the deepest blue of sky
A maid was walking
She wore a crown
And in her hand a white lily
From the trunk grew a branch
From the branch a flower
From the flower Mary was born
And from Mary, the Redeemer
A beam of light shone through the crystal
Yet its face was not clouded
This is how Mary conceived
And a maid she remained
Ave Maria
by Franz Biebl
Angelus Domini nuntiavit Mariae et concepit de Spiritu Sancto.
Ave Maria, gratia plena, Dominus tecum,
benedicta tu in mulieribus,
et benedictus fructus ventris tui, Jesus.
Maria dixit:
Ecce ancilla Domini
Fiat mihi secundum verbum tuum.
Ave Maria ...
Et verbum caro factum est
Et habitavit in nobis.
Ave Maria ...
Sancta Maria, mater Dei, ora pro nobis peccatoribus. Sancta Maria, ora pro nobis nunc et in hora mortis nostrae.
Amen.
The Angel of the Lord announced to Mary and she conceived by the Holy Spirit.
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the Fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Mary said:
Behold the handmaiden of the Lord. Do to me according to your word.
Hail Mary ...
And the Word was made flesh
And dwelt among us.
Hail Mary ...
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
The Danish Star Carol
Deilig er den himmel blaa
Lyst det er at se derpaa
Hvor de gyldne stjerner blinker
Hvor de smiler, hvor de vinker
Os fra forden op til sig
Loveliest of blue the sky
Gives delight to ev’ry eye
Where the golden stars are blinking
Waving, shining, waving, twinkling
Calling all on earth to rise
Quem Vidistis Pastores
Quem vidistis, pastores, dicite,
Annuntiate nobis, in terris quis apparuit?
Natum vidimus et choros Angelorum collaudantes Dominum.
Mariam et Joseph vidimus,
In terra stratos supplices et ratum carum pariter adorantes humiliter, gratia Deo, qui dedit nobis victoriam per Jesum Christum, salvatorem nostrum.
Alleluia
What have you seen, shepherds? Say.
Tell us, who has appeared on earth?
We saw the birth, and choirs of angels praising the Lord.
We saw Mary and Joseph, prostrate supplicants upon the earth and humble adoration: thanks be to God, who delivered to us victory through Jesus Christ, our savior.
Alleluia
Canite tuba – A Christmas Triptych
1. Canite Tuba
Canite tuba in Sion. Quia prope est dies Domini.
Ecce Venit as salvandum nos. Erunt parava in directa. Et aspera in vias planas. Veni Domine, et noli tardare.
2. Verbum Caro Factum Est
Verbum caro factum est. Et habitavit in nobis
Et vidimus gloriam eius.
3. Surge Illuminare
Surge, illuminare Jerusalem. Quia venit lumen tuum. Et gloria Domini. Super te orta est. Alleluia
1. Sound the trumpet in Zion, for the day of the Lord is at hand
Behold! He comes to save us!
The crooked will become straight and the rough places smooth. Come Lord, and don’t delay!
2. The word was made flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory.
3. Arise, be enlightened Jerusalem, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you!
Alleluia!
